The bodies of 22 victims were recovered from the rubble of a nine-story residential building that collapsed in one of the districts of Cairo – Gisr-es-Sueis. This was reported on Saturday, March 27 El Balad.
Rescuers and special equipment worked at the site of the emergency all day. In the evening, experts began to inspect the buildings adjacent to this house in order to identify a possible threat to the structures of neighboring buildings.
According to the newspaper, by the evening the death toll had increased to 22 people, 25 were injured. The search for three missing persons continues.
According to the agency, such cases are not uncommon.
Experts note that in Cairo, about 40% of buildings are not registered and were erected with violations. And first of all, this applies to poor neighborhoods.
