This year, about 24,800 students from 1st to 12th grade will cross the threshold of schools in the municipality of Burgas. The children who will enter Burgas classrooms for the first time are 2,050, and four new classes have been opened – in “Nayden Gerov” Elementary School, “Alexander Georgiev-Kodjakafaliyata” Elementary School, “Elin Pelin” Elementary School and “Yordan Yovkov” Elementary School. .

For comparison in the previous years, the total number of students in Burgas was respectively: 24,668, 24,366, 24,144 and 23,992, and for first graders 1931, 1923, 1867, which for another year shows an increase in the number of students in the seaside city.

In order to respond to the growing number of children in Burgas, attracted by the quality education and the new material and learning base, the local administration continues to build new buildings and renovate kindergartens and schools every year.

Thus, in the last few years, a number of school buildings and sports spaces were completely reconstructed in “Elin Pelin” Elementary School, “St. St. Cyril and Methodius”, AEG “Geo Milev”, OU “Lyuben Karavelov”, OU “Peyo K. Yavorov”, PGSI “Peño Penev”, OU “St. Knyaz Boris I”, Vocational High School of Mechanoelectrical Engineering and Electronics, Vocational High School of Tourism, OU “P. R. Slaveikov”, “Bishop Konstantin Preslavski” Secondary School, “Anton Strashimirov” Elementary School and “Goethe” NEG.

Renovation of the sports fields and at “Hristo Botev” Primary School – “Sarafovo” quarter, “Hristo Botev” Primary School – “Pobeda” quarter, “Hristo Botev” Primary School – “Marinka” quarter, SU “Hristo Botev” – quarter “Black Sea”, “Hristo Botev” Primary School – Bulgarovo, “Dimcho Debelyanov” Secondary School, “Vasil Levski” PGHT “Acad. N. D. Zelinsky”, SU “Yordan Yovkov” and PGMKR “St. Nicholas”.

More new kindergartens were built – DG “Seahorse” in the residential area. “Bratya Miladinovi”, DG “Sinchets” in the quarter “Gorno Ezerovo” and the third building of DG “Nadezhda” in the district of “Copper Mine”.

The construction of a new building of the “Alen Mak” Elementary School in the “Sarafovo” district is starting, where the long-awaited new building of the “Hristo Botev” Elementary School will also open its doors this school year, which will provide students from the Burgas district with enough space, new classrooms and a private gym.

The “Anton Strashimirov” Elementary School will also welcome its graduates after a major renovation of the building, energy efficiency measures and a STEM classroom were introduced, as well as in the “Georgi Benkovski” Elementary School, where, in addition to classroom renovations, a new STEM classroom was also made. they already have an elevator, an accessible environment for people with disabilities and a renovated school yard.

Construction activities continue in the “Magic” DG and in the new building of PPMG “Acad. Nikola Obreshkov”, and a few days ago, another long-awaited renovation began – of the Yuri Gagarin Sports School.

Construction is also underway on another landmark for the entire Burgas region – the Center for Excellence with an adjoining dormitory at the innovative PGKPI.

The Municipality of Burgas is ready for the construction of a new school in the “Kraimorie” quarter, which will be a branch of the “Alexander Georgiev Kodjakafaliyata” Primary School, and a project for the construction of a new building of the “Vasil Aprilov” Primary School.

Separately, in all 52 schools on the territory of Burgas municipality, STEM classrooms are to be built according to the National Plan for Recovery and Sustainability, in which Burgas students will master the skills of the 21st century.
