Camila Maria Barbosa dos Santosis a 27-year-old woman of Brazilian descent being investigated by misappropriation after allegedly faking cancer so people would deposit money to help her with her treatment.
The young woman told police officers police in brazil who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017 and went into remission, however, she is accused of shaving her hair without having the disease.
He said last year the cancer would return and spread to his lung and intestines after he contracted the dengue virus.
Why did the police start investigating her?
Local police said they began investigating the young woman after she was unable to confirm evidence of her diagnosis, as many people donated money to her so she could undergo treatment.
Presumably the woman would Done raffles, collections and more to extort money from people, which is why the police received the first complaints about the fundraising two months ago.
Fernando Noguera Boaventura Gontijo, Chief of Police, confirmed that Camila did not provide any documentation to support her diagnosis when questioned.
They also carried out an investigation at his home and couldn’t find any evidence that he had cancer, so the people who donated money to him showed their anger and went to the proper authorities.
The hospital also denied he was a patient
The Araújo Jorge hospital, where Camila allegedly received her treatment, denied that the woman was a patient at the hospital. Local workers said that on one occasion they caught her taking pictures on a gurney in the chemotherapy room, this while using an internal hospital identification card, for which she was removed from the scene.
