‘Golf Empress’ Park In-bi (32, KB Financial Group) challenges to win the third US Women’s Open in his career.
Park Inbi will participate in the 75th US Women’s Open held at the Houston Champions Golf Club in Texas, USA for four days from the 11th (Korean time).
In an interview held one day before the opening day of the tournament, Park In-bi expressed his honor for the praise of Adam Scott (Australia), a male professional golfer who is currently active on the PGA tour.
Park Inbi said, “Scott, who has a great swing, has been my idol since I was a kid,” and said, “He always has a good swing and a great player who plays golf well.”
Scott, the world’s No. 1 player in the PGA Tour’s career with 14 wins, praised Park In-bi at the Northern Trust press conference in August.
“Park Inbi’s swing is slow, but planned,” Scott said. “Personally, I try to slow my backswing (like Inbi Park) when the swing doesn’t work well.”
“It’s always an honor to hear praise,” Park Inbi said. “It’s a rhythm I’ve had since I was a child, and it hasn’t changed much until now. Of course, but I’m lucky.”
Park In-bi, who won the US Women’s Open championships in 2008 and 2013, aims to win the tournament for the third time. Park In-bi finished the preheating with tied for second place in the VOA Classic that ended last week. Even in the LPGA comeback after 7 weeks, he showed unchanged skills.
Park Inbi said, “It’s new to compete in the US Women’s Open as Christmas is approaching,” he said. “But the US Women’s Open is always a special event. I don’t want to miss this competition because it’s important to have a chance to participate.

Park In-bi will play with his best friends Yoo So-yeon (30, Medi Hill) and Arya Jutanugan (Thailand) in the first round. Yoo So-yeon is also the champion in 2011 and Jutanugan in 2018.
