The National Statistical Committee (Belstat) published review for Father’s Day, which is celebrated in Belarus on October 21. According to the department, as of January 1, 2023, about 3.3 million men over 18 years of age live in the country, almost every fifth lives in Minsk.
The statistical portrait of a father in the country is as follows: Belarusian, married, city dweller, has a vocational or higher education, works in the construction or transport sector.
According to the 2019 census, the number of families consisting of a father with children under 18 years of age is 43,920. About 32.2 thousand fathers are raising one child, almost 10 thousand – two, 1.73 thousand – three or more children. In 2022, 57.9 thousand men got married. The average age at first marriage is 28.7 years.
