In the Russian Neftekamsk on Wednesday evening, November 17, a bright meteor fell. Eyewitnesses published the moment of the fall in social networks.
The published footage shows how a bright glowing ball is flying towards the ground. The meteor has a long and glowing tail.
The fall of the meteor was also noticed in Udmurtia and Tatarstan. Presumably, it was a large meteor from the Leonids meteor shower, which reached its peak last night. The meteor burned up in the atmosphere without reaching the ground.
It is noted that the Leonids meteor shower passes from 6 to 30 November. Its maximum activity falls on November 17-18. The speed of the meteor shower reaches 15-20 meteors per hour.
