Now is the time for celebration, and relief, for the E. Leclerc team from Barjouville, who, this Saturday evening, finished the construction sessions for the Lego® Christmas tree.
It is with a hammer in hand, perched on top of a basket, rented for the occasion, that the technician makes sure that the last pieces of this giant puzzle fit together correctly. Almost twenty trays are stacked, with “each different heights of bricks, ranging from 20 to 48 bricks in height.”
To consolidate everything, metal plates were added between each “layer”, and inside an iron rod, added at each stage of assembly, is used to secure the 6.25 meters high of the tree.
“Everything is mounted! All that remains for us to do is add a few decorations to the upper part, and above all, to mount the star ”, indicates Virginie Leichnig, executive assistant of the E. Leclerc center in Chartres and Epicenter manager. The final details will be worked out early next week.

A shared family moment
Difficult to “contain the 1,000 or so children who participated” since Wednesday in the construction of the tree. Virginie Leichnig adds that the children were very enthusiastic about the idea of building the largest Christmas tree in France, especially to make the decorations.
“Everyone wanted to create their own little decoration, some even personalized them to be able to recognize them once in the tree. “
“We still got scared at several times. But today the challenge has been met ”

A successful operation and a challenge taken up for the Barjouville team. “We knew it was going to be a hit. Some parents even took up the idea of creating a Lego® Christmas tree. It was a great shared family moment ”says Virginie Leichnig.
The largest Lego® Christmas tree in France will be installed in the E.Leclerc shopping center in Barjouville!
The tree will occupy the gallery throughout the month of December, before being dismantled in early January. The pieces should be arranged by color and size. “Here again, we will organize an animation around the dismantling so that the children can help us”, already announces the person in charge of the gallery, before adding:
We already have other construction ideas for next year!
