It is the most loved by the people of Bari, immortalized in thousands of photographs among the iconic scenarios of the city which have now become national heritage thanks also to cinema and TV: and Birra Peroni, obviously, thanks and responds.
The company, in fact, continues to invest in the historic Bari plant and does so by focusing on innovation and sustainability. Three new fermentation tanks were delivered to the headquarters in via Bitritto, ready to be fully operational in April. To get them to their destination, thanks to the collaboration with the metropolitan city, a special transport was organized in the night between 9 and 10 March, with simultaneous closure to traffic of some roads from the port to the Peroni plant, passing through the Adriatic Bridge.
“The arrival of these three new fermenters – he explains Michele Cason, director of the Bari plant – will allow us to maintain adequate fermentation and maturation times and guarantee the quality of our products, allowing us to further improve our production efficiency and sustainability. With this investment we are launching a new phase of development for the company which will see the introduction of new brands in this year, in line with the emerging market demands and with the offer differentiation strategy that responds to the ambition to establish ourselves in the segment of non-alcoholic beers to promote increasingly responsible consumption “.
The investment of 1.6 million, the company explains, confirms the link with the territory, which has invested over 26 million here in the last 10 years, and the choice to focus on innovation and sustainability. The plant in via Bitritto has an average annual production capacity of 2.5 million hectoliters. Each of the three fermenters has a diameter of about 7 meters, a length of 19 meters, a weight of about 29 tons and can contain 4,500 hectoliters. The brands produced in Bari, in the 3 production lines dedicated to bottles and returnable bottles, are: Peroni, Peroni gluten-free, Nastro Azzurro, Nastro Azzurro Zero, Tourtel, Raffo and Wührer.
