In Avellino twins from all over Italy for the national gathering

(ANSA) – AVELLINO, 06 SEPTEMBER – They are all athletes, brothers, twins. And when one of the three is injured, the other two give up running. There are stories like this in the National Twins’ Gathering that returned to Avellino, in the monumental complex of the Bourbon Prison, for its fourth edition. Sergio, Fabio and Pasquale, 43 years old, originally from Molfetta (Bari) talked about their passion for running and their dream of participating, together, in the New York Marathon. “When one of us is not in shape, the other two also stop. When we tried to do the opposite, it didn’t bring us any luck”. More than sixty couples arrived from different Italian regions, mostly from the South, in the Irpinia capital. Among them Adriana and Giuliana Vangone, originally from Pompeii: animated by an artistic spirit, they acted in the film “Whishing on a star” in competition at the Venice Film Festival in the Orizzonti section: “This brief experience – they say – encourages us to continue to pursue together the passion for acting that we have felt and cultivated since we were children”. This edition was inspired by Woodstock, the mega gathering that in the Sixties would mark an era. Love, peace, coexistence, the watchwords, with the addition of solidarity: in fact, the stands exhibit the “Pigotte” of Unicef. Their sale will help finance the anti-polio vaccination campaign dedicated to children. (ANSA).
