I remember having commented in this corner that, in some of the books by the professor of Political Philosophy Daniel InnerarityI had read that we live in a time in which the improbable happens, not to say that certainties have ended or, worse still, that politics dwells in uncertainty. Statements that were explained with lucid reasoning and with facts taken from reality such as, for example: the failure of the forecasts and the results of Brexit and the victory of Donald Trumpthe advances of the extreme right in the European Union, the fragility of democracy in the illiberal states of Poland and Hungary…
Esperanza
Now, it’s not just about acknowledging that he was right. That, more than important, is necessary. Without recognizing reality, a future with hope cannot be built. Above all, when after the recent victories of the extreme right in France, Germany, Austria… there is no doubt that this policy that, in the EU, questions democracy and human rights, is taking root. But, in any case, I repeat, now the essential and obligatory question is to find out and correct the causes why extreme forces, which are a danger to the security and coexistence of any country, get more votes than other political forces that, like the democratic right and social democracy have been dominant for decades.
Possibly, and it is an opinion, because the right whitewashes them, gives them a card of naturalness by making some of their policies their own, makes agreements, takes them to government institutions… Or also, because, on more than one occasion and together to social democracy, have made citizens live in the midst of policies that do not solve their problems and cause social injustices. In any case, reflection.
