International singer Celine Dion announced on Thursday that she has a “very rare neurological syndrome” which has once again forced her to postpone concerts she was due to perform in Europe as part of her “Carriage World Tour”.
The star, originally from the Canadian province of Quebec, was struck by a video clip she posted on her Instagram account, in which she explained that she has been suffering from “health problems for a long time.”
“I was recently diagnosed with a very rare neurological disease, stiff person syndrome,” she said.
Due to this disease, which results in a progressive stiffening of the muscles, Celine Dion began to suffer from walking difficulties, while the disorder also prevented her from “using her vocal cords” in the way she wanted, according to the singer.
“It saddens me to inform you today that I won’t be ready to complete my tour of Europe in February,” she added, noting that an “excellent team of doctors” are taking care of her health.
Dion’s European tour was scheduled to resume at the end of February from the Czech Republic.
Interestingly, Dion performed the first 52 concerts of the tour before the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in early 2020. Then last January, the Canadian star announced the cancellation of her North American concerts as part of this tour due to her suffering from health problems.
