60 families, mostly dedicated to seasonal agriculture, received the keys to their new homes from the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Carlos Montes, who led the inauguration ceremony of the La Primavera housing complex, in Quinta de Tilcoco, a project financed by the Rural Habitability Program (DS10) of the portfolio.
Based on this program, which provides a subsidy for families that need a housing solution and live in rural or urban areas of up to 5 thousand inhabitants, recognizing the cultural, geographical and productive particularities of their territory, it was possible to build these 60 homes of an average surface area of 63 m2, in a complex that also includes a sanitary solution, green areas, jogging and pedestrian circulation circuits with universal accessibility, seating and play areas.
“It is very important to advance in rural areas. It is a complex that has a beautiful environment, the entire sector, and I hope that the life that the community builds is a very formative place for everyone, very pleasant, very warm, with a lot of good family life and good community life and, From that, contributing to the commune, the children, the young people are fundamental,” said Minister Carlos Montes, accompanied by the regional authorities of the Minvu, the director of Serviu O’Higgins, Omar Gutiérrez, and the seremi (s) of the portfolio, Fernando Troncoso.
Likewise, the Secretary of State emphasized that the Housing Emergency Plan aims to complete 260 thousand homes. As of January of this year, it already has 105,261 housing solutions delivered, which represents 40.5 percent of the goal met, in addition to 120,241 homes under construction and 82,097 to begin construction.
The mayor of Quinta de Tilcoco, Sebastián Rodríguez, revealed that “this year we have made a change from what was planned. We want to provide a housing solution to 100 percent of the organized demand in our community through industrialized housing. We want to be the first commune in the region to do so. We are going to bet on that and we believe that we are going to achieve it.”
For her part, the leader Carmen Soto, representing the beneficiary families, thanked all the authorities, companies and people who made the dream of her own house a reality, valuing that “there were 9 years of war, of constant struggle, with Ups and downs. But thanks to the strength and determination of this committee, working together with Housing, the municipality and the construction company, we were able to emerge from this gloriously.”
