In addition to replicas of classic cars, Kuno ID accepts electric car conversions

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Kuno ID restoration workshop participated in the 2023 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS). Apart from working on classic car restorations and replicas, it turns out that Kuno ID also offers electric car conversions.

Michael Hendrawan, Project Leader of Kuno ID, said that his party provides a conversion package from a conventional engine car to an electric car.

“We provide a package, there is a set of power steering, engine, motorbike, and if there is additional air conditioning, we will include it too,” said Michael, to Kompas.com, when met at his booth at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta.

“The battery can be custom, if you want to add it, we’ll match it first with the car. Is it still capable if you put the battery in again,” said Michael.

Michael added, for the position of the battery, it is usually placed at the front so that the center of gravity is evenly distributed. This is because the car’s drive system will be rear-wheel-drive (RWD).

“We imported the conversion package from China. The price starts from Rp. 125 million, the materials are from consumers. Later, we will measure it first, then we can tell you the price. But, starting from Rp. 125 million,” he said.

Michael said that for this electric car conversion, Kuno ID only accepts classic cars, not modern cars.
