The AvtoVAZ conveyor has started moving again – the company has started production of Lada Granta Classic. This is a simplified Lada Grant model without ABS and airbags.
The manufacturer states that it will be the most affordable model and is designed “to ensure the maximum possible localization of the car, avoiding the effects of the lack of imported components.”
The car doesn’t have ABS or airbags, but body-colored door moldings, heated and electrically adjustable mirrors, and 15-inch alloy wheels were added to the list of standard equipment. There will also be power steering, power windows for the front doors, ISOFIX child seat mounts, an on-board computer and an audio kit with four speakers.
Under the hood, the 1.6-liter petrol engine with 90 horsepower combined with a manual transmission has been reduced to Euro-2.
The next models to get “simplified versions” are expected to be Vesta and Niva.
