The patient’s relatives, who had arrived in front of him, found him in a wheelchair pushed out of the hospital and the medication needles were left in the veins of his arms. A day later, the patient died.

Ilmārs Tolstovs, a clergyman of the Latvian Roman Catholic Church, raised the alarm on social networks, who told LTV that his colleague, 87-year-old priest Gregors Ķibulis, had been taken to the hospital. The children were heard by the children about the bitterness of the relatives about what happened in the hospital and the subsequent death of their relative at the Ķibulis tomb, and Tolstov asked his relatives to write about what had happened and published what he wrote on his blog.

Kibuli’s relatives, who wished to remain anonymous, describe what happened at the end of July and how the priest got to the hospital, describe the attitude of the hospital staff there and do not hide the fact that the clergyman was in great pain after being discharged from the hospital. An ambulance was called, but after a while it turned out that he was dead.

Alona Prutkova, the doctor in charge of the hospital’s Emergency Medicine Center, told LTV that the hospital now needs to review the video surveillance camera records to find out how the patient alone could have been to the hospital, because the helpless patients were not left alone by the staff.

LTV notes that one in three patients brought in with the “ambulances” is kept in the hospital and only if he has a life-threatening acute condition. The priest did not have that. Relatives write that he had severe pain when he returned home.

Prutkova LTV admitted that the death of the old man is not related to care in Stradiņš Hospital.

The NMPD, on the other hand, explained that the actions of the “ambulance” team had been in line with the patient’s state of health and the ability of physicians to help in such situations, LTV reports.

According to the LTV program “Panorama”, the video recordings of the video surveillance cameras have been checked in the hospital and it can be seen that the sick priest was not alone in the wheelchair at any time, LTV’s representative Evija Mileiko stated.

After discharge, a hospital employee took the patient out of the premises in the fresh air in a wheelchair. After waiting a few minutes, a car of relatives arrived, in which the patient was seated.

All catheters were also removed from the patient’s hands, according to medical records.

The hospital is ready to answer all the questions of the relatives, if it receives an official application.
