The clash between Sarmiento and Belgrano was a clear example of what Argentine football is all about. The beginning gave many hope that the game could develop into a nice blow-for-blow game, something that lasted only a breath of 15 minutes. After a start with chances for both sides, the game slowed down and dropped from those first minutes of good football. From then on the clash was a downfall, a game that was talked about more than it was played, along with a huge lack of creativity on the part of both teams. Sarmiento had no greater plans than to send crosses to Ezequiel Naya, while Juan Cruz Real’s men tried to rely on the hierarchy of Matías Suárez, who also had a poor afternoon, apart from a free kick that was well blocked by Lucas Acosta.

And the second half developed in the same vein. Both coaches sought to give vertigo to a match that never seemed to be unbalanced on the scoreboard. Although both had their chance to make it 1-0, Lucas Acosta blocked a shot that was going to the right corner of his goal, while the Verde had the victory at the feet of Gabriel Hauche, who made his debut with the Junín team’s shirt.

Of course, the match in Junín could be analyzed based on the hierarchy and style of play of each team. While Sarmiento played in a very similar way to what he often does, it is Belgrano who is most indebted after the clash against Israel Damonte’s team, a team much more accustomed to blocking matches and defining them with extreme efficiency, as they did against Racing. And it is the Pirate who feels that he has wasted two points that would have brought him closer to the top, although there is also a reason behind the poor performance of Real’s team: the absences.
Uvita Fernández, Bryan Reyna and Santiago Longo were not there due to various injuries and that is perhaps the reason for a very poor game by Real. One point that is useful in Junín and two that the Pirate let slip away.
