The company is called NEED robotics. It has just been created and now wants to propose this solution of disinfection by ultraviolet rays in the entire region.
Great light tubes to disinfect
At the top of the engine stand of large tubes, such as neon lights. The usefulness of ultraviolet rays of type C is proved, Ned Cekic is the founder of the company, based in Courtois-sur-Yonne : “on the sun, there are three types of UV, A, B, and C which we are protected by the ozone layer. This is the one that allows you to decontaminate, breaking the DNA (viruses and bacteria).”
This light is toxic for the man, it is, therefore, an autonomous robot that moves adds Ned Cekic : “he can act in the health facilities or others, in the long-term care facilities, airports, because it can be taken in hand by any kind of person. We all have a certain ease-to-use smartphones, or tablets. That’s the idea.”
The robot does not replace the decontamination manual
Cleaning the UV, which is for the moment only a complement precise Karine Manzoni, responsible for the management of risk in the clinic : “the robot will not clean up the tasks that are on a surface, disinfection after cleaning. But it can also be used to disinfect prior to the passage of the cleaning agents”.
A solution in a period of containment
And there, she sees another advantage : “we have had difficulties of replenishment during this period, products virucide. So I think that in the years to come it will come on this alternative (the robot UV) because it is a virus that will be like the flu, you’re going to have to learn to live with it.”
The robot will be able to rent between 80 and 140 euros per day. An investment on which the clinique Paul Picquet is still in the reflection.
