Today, Wednesday, April 12, the Zagora region witnessed the recovery of the body of a person in his forties, under the rubble of a well in the Akmouden roundabout, the Tensift community in the Zagora region.
According to sources from the scene, the victim fell into a 14-meter-deep well, when he was in the process of deepening it in search of water.
The teams of the local authorities, civil protection, the royal gendarmerie and a number of volunteers enlisted to contribute to the rescue operations, as the drilling operations continued for about 12 hours, due to the sensitivity of the soil, which made the rescue operation difficult.
The victim’s body was transferred, after being recovered, to the mortuary of Al-Daraq Hospital in the city of Zagora, pending the opening of an in-depth investigation into the incident by the competent authorities.
This incident brings to mind the tragedy of the child, Rayan, who died at the age of 5, after falling into a well in the Chefchaouen region, in February of last year.
