Nearly 60 thousand checks were committed by the state employees forest enterprises and the Forestry Executive Agency in the country for one month. In the period from August 5 to September 8, 2024, 12,194 mining sites were inspected wood. As a result, 485 acts were drawn up to establish administrative violations and penalties under the Forestry Act. 282 spatial cubic meters of wood, 8 vehicles, 16 wagons, one horse and 8 chainsaws were seized.
In connection with the coming heating season and a period of mass supply of the population with firewood, the control in the forest territories remains strengthened. Inspections are carried out both for the purpose of prevention and for establishing violations and encroachments in the forest territories and imposing sanctions on the perpetrators. Experts monitor the sites where wood is harvested, the origin, quantity and legality of the wood transported, the means of transport and the firewood delivered.
Citizens must claim and keep the transport tickets with which the firewood was delivered to them and not purchase unmarked ones. The transport ticket is the document that, when checked by the responsible institutions, proves the legal origin of the wood. It contains information about its quantity and type, as well as the name of the recipient and the address where it is stored. In the absence of this document, the wood is retained by the competent authorities, and its owner bears criminal liability.
