US State Department spokesman Ned Price insisted the allegations were untrue, stating that Washington is following developments in Pakistan but respects and supports Pakistan’s constitutional process and the rule of law.

This is not the first time Khan has accused Washington of interfering in the country’s internal affairs and trying to influence its policy decisions.
