Lübeck – The 1. FC Phoenix Lübeck is the home opener in the Regional League North succeeded. In front of 412 spectators, the Eagles beat VfB Oldenburg 3-1 (3-0). After two difficult weeks, the victory against a promotion favorite was another success for Phönix.
“We are overjoyed”
Trainer Christiano Adigo was happy about the three points and about the upcoming match against Borussia Dortmund: “We are overjoyed to have picked up three points in front of our home crowd. Today we did exactly what we could have done better in the last two matches. We were cool-headed and efficient in exploiting our chances. This allowed us to build up a comfortable lead at half-time. Even after conceding a goal and being sent off in the second half, we kept a cool head and confidently took home the win. So we are now starting the DFB Cup week in a good mood and full of anticipation.”
