The winning goal for Vozão was scored by Vina, in the 48th minute of the 1st half. With the result, Alvinegro took a leap in the table, and with 24 points, entered the G-10 of Serie A.
The match was marked by another blackout in the spotlights of Castelãowhich caused the game to be delayed by 47 minutes.
It was Grandpa’s 2nd consecutive victory in Serie A as home team, increasing the unbeaten record in the elite to 7 matches. In the next round, the 19th, last of the 1st Round, Ceará on Sunday (24th), faces Juventude, at 16:00, at Alfredo Jaconi stadium.
The game:
Ceará started the game unfocused, missing simple and spaced passes in the marking. Unlike Avaí, who entered the game very connected and was already in danger. And at the first chance of the game, Eduardo kicked hard and the ball brushed João Ricardo’s crossbar.
But after 5 minutes, Ceará organized more and started to press. With 12 minutes, Nino Paraíba crossed and Mendoza headed wide.
The game was balanced, but with Ceará with much more ball possession. However, Vovô’s passing errors were dangerous, in defense, with Richardson’s in the 18th minute, allowing Avaí another chance, with Pottker crossing low and Eduardo narrowly missing the finish in the small area.
Vozão responded in the 23rd minute, with a strong kick from outside the area by Zé Roberto that goalkeeper Vladimir defended.
Even more present in the attack and with the ball possession, Ceará continued to miss the ball out. Pottker intercepted Luiz Otávio’s wrong pass, crossed, but before the ball reached Bissoli, Richardson saved with a cart.
In the final stretch of the 1st half, the pace of the game dropped, with the teams missing too many passes. Avaí arrived once again, in a free kick that João Ricardo defended well, in the 38th minute.
If the visiting team didn’t take any danger, Vozão was fouled in favor at 48 and didn’t let the chance pass, opening the score with Vina. After a rehearsed free kick, Bruno Pacheco rolled for him, who hit hard at the angle to make it 1-0 to Vovô, in the last move of the 1st half.
2nd time
Ceará started the final stage pressing and Vina finished with danger after 4 minutes, after a cross by Mendoza. In another chance, in the 11th minute, Mendoza was launched at speed, passed the defender, but facing the goal, finished off.
After two chances created, Ceará started to be pressured by Avaí, who became more offensive with the changes of their coach, Eduardo Barroca.
And Grandpa had defensive difficulties, with the Santa Catarina team losing three good chances, two with Pottker, hitting the outside, and one with Vitinho, who hit the post. After the scares, Grandpa responded, with a ball on the crossbar of Mendoza, in the 29th minute.
In the final stretch of the game, Avaí continued better, with possession of the ball and putting pressure on Vovô. Ceará, who couldn’t come out on the counterattacks so often anymore, also had difficulty in marking.
With the game up to 53, Ceará defended with a lot of dedication – Messias ended the game in sacrifice – and still had a chance to expand, with Vina hitting the post.
And after the final whistle, the alvinegra celebration was remarkable, after all, the victory was difficult, but it was worth entering the G-10.
