In a controversial match, Boca Juniors and Estudiantes tied for the Professional League

Estudiantes and Boca tied 1-1, in the city of La Plata, in the framework of the 12th date of the 2024 Professional League. The Xeneize was looking for its victory, after being eliminated by the Copa Sudamericana. However, the match became complicated.

Milton Giménez gave Boca the lead, while Edwin Cetré tied the game for Pincha. The Colombian’s goal came after a double foul by Carrillo on Lema and by Cetré himself on Advíncula.

At 34 minutes into the second half, Luciano Giménez had scored the 2-1 in favour of Pincha, but Federico Fernández was offside when he headed the ball. Due to this, after the VAR called, Darío Herrera disallowed the goal.

Finally, at 50 minutes, Milton Giménez jumped with his arm raised in front of Federico Fernández, earned a second yellow card, and was sent off. Boca Juniors remains in eighth place with 18 points, six behind leaders Vélez and Huracán. Meanwhile, Estudiantes de La Plata is in 14th place with 16 points.
