Dr. Taha Rabeh, head of the National Institute for Astronomical Research, said that an earthquake occurred this afternoon and that the people of Maadi, Dar es Salaam and Faisal areas in Greater Cairo felt it.
Rabeh explained in reports to Masrawy that the earthquake occurred at 3.57 minutes on Tuesday night, as a result of construction work, 6 kilometers southeast of Cairo.
The institute also confirmed in an official statement that the earthquake measured 2 on the Richter scale.
He confirmed that there was no information that indicated any loss of life or property.
It should be noted that the residents of the Maadi area reported on their pages on the social network site “Facebook” that the area had been exposed to earthquakes, as one of them wrote: “It was there was an earthquake some time ago, people, in Maadi. .”
