The Inegi specified that investigations in 2023 increased 2.8 percent compared to 2022. It detailed that 3.6 percent were opened in the FGR and 96.4 percent for the FGE. Of the total, the FGR initiated 80 thousand 169 and FGE, 2.15 million.

In the same period, the FGE closed 219,705 investigations and investigation folders: 98 percent were for adults and 2 percent for adolescents. The figure decreased 16 percent compared to 2022.
The prosecutor’s offices reported a total of 2 million 654 thousand 284 preliminary investigations, investigations and investigation folders pending completion: 2 percent were for the FGR and 98 percent for the FGE. This figure represented a decrease of 9 percent compared to 2022.
At the end of 2023, there were 3,670 people as heads of the institution and the administrative units and agencies or prosecutors of the Public Ministry of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) and the state Attorney General’s Offices or Attorney General’s Offices (FGE). ).
Of the total number of holders, 38.1 percent were women and 50.6 percent were men. For 11.3 percent, sex was not specified. In addition, 36.7 percent of the women and 42.4 percent of the tenured men had zero to two years of tenure in the position.
During 2023, the FGR and the FGE exercised a total budget of 74 thousand 363.2 million current pesos.
