In 2022 the theater started a recovery process

After 2020 and the restrictions due to the pandemic, the national cultural portfolio and the National Theater Institute have launched lines of support trying to reactivate theatrical activity throughout the national territory and in the province of Corrientes. This has allowed the Corrientes theater to reach the entire province with more than 250 performances this year.

During 2022, the second stage of the Plan Argentina Florece Teatral was developed, for the first time Teatrines, a federal program of scenic interventions aimed at children, Corrientes Violeta and Teatro per la Democrazia were created, the 4th edition of the event was held completed “Tell me what you read” at the Provincial Book Fair, the action in the interior of the province was accentuated with the 36th Provincial Theater Festival held in Monte Caseros, without failing to underline the different help lines that were accessed from existing rooms, groups, concerted casts, and independent theater productions.

Some of the places where a theatrical proposal was presented were: Ramada Paso, Itatí, Paso de los Libres, Esquina, Santa Ana, Paraje Caimán, San Miguel, Bella Vista, Cañada Quiroz, Paraje Pontón, Pedro R. Fernández, Saladas , Chavarría , Place Uguay, General San Martín, Mercedes, Place Arroyo Güazú, Colonia Carlos Pellegrini, Loreto, San Miguel, Caá Catí, Curuzú Cuatiá, Paso de la Patria, El Sombrero, Saladas, Paso Pesoa, San Cayetano, Perichón, Empedrado , San Luis del Palmar, Bella Vista, San Roque, Monte Caseros, Corner, Lomas de Vallejo, Colonia San Antonio, Capillita Place, Mariano I. Loza, Felipe Yofre, Capitá Mini Place, Boquerón, Derqui, Goya, San Cayetano, Riachuelo , Corrientes , among others.

In this regard, the regional contact person of the National Theater Institute, Jorge Frete, expressed: “We know that there is much more to do, above all to seduce the public to fill the independent theaters during their annual seasons, where countless workers contribute with their technical and artistic knowledge, very modest but with the same importance as the artist on stage, there are new towns and villages and rural schools that we must achieve, training and further training for artists that this national body allows us, among other objectives , and we will certainly succeed given the passion and professionalism demonstrated in recent times by Corrientes’ theater performers, technicians and teachers”.

Argentina Florece Teatral has tried this year to accompany the process of reopening or resuming theatrical activities affected by the restrictions imposed during the pandemic with active policies.

It has sought to cause a productive impact that mobilizes the physical resources available to accompany the reactivation of the entertainment sector, encouraging and maximizing its capabilities. To add as many spectators as possible to the event, trying to re-establish a timely reconnection of cultural audiences with theatrical experiences throughout the national territory, also generating access to new audiences.

Le Teatrine were popular and easily accessible activities, aimed above all at children and teenagers, with the aim of making visible the work of theatrical artists who generate productions aimed at children, adolescents and families.

In July, during the XII Provincial Book Fair which took place from 14 to 24 in the city of Corrientes, the 4th edition of “Tell me what you read” was held in the premises of the former factory, a proposal which included an institutional stand and a tent where you enjoyed functions, meeting spaces, workshops.

This initiative sought to disseminate the theatrical dramaturgy of the NEA region and the different activities of the INT. One of its goals was to promote local authors through existing regional and national publications.

In April, the 36th Provincial Festival of the Corrientes Theater was held in Monte Caseros, which brought together all the theatrical activity and in it the show “(We are not) winning” by the Experimento Escenario de Paso de los group was selected. Libres which represented Corrientes at the 36th National Theater Festival, held from September 29 to October 3 in the province of Chaco, with a regional runner that touched Corrientes, Misiones, Formosa and various cities of the Chaco, as well as Resistencia.

All these lines have been implemented with the participation of co-managers, provincial, municipal, intermediate associations, educational institutions, among others.

The independent theaters and the various spaces have actively participated with a great theater season, with shows for all ages, a joint and constant effort has allowed the Corrientes public to enjoy the productions, which have not only come with proposals that have been made for several seasons, but also with film releases, which even arrived in the month of December, closing a year with a lot of theater and projecting a great 2023 in the theater field.
