NAC Breda
NAC Breda is still the largest social media club in the Kitchen Champion Division, with almost 150,000 followers. The Breda residents are the most popular club in the Kitchen Champion Division on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. Roda JC Kerkrade (136,679) and NEC (124,025) achieved modest growth of about 4.5% and follow in second and third place. SC Cambuur and De Graafschap will join the ‘Club of 100,000’ this year. For the first time, the folk clubs have more than 100,000 followers on social media.
The greatest growth was realized by FC Volendam. The club of trainer Wim Jonk saw the number of followers increase by almost a third, to just over 40,000. Thanks to the growth FC Volendam is making a huge leap in our list; it goes from place 14 to place 10. FC Eindhoven also performed well on social media in the past year, with a growth of 17% as a result.
Despite the corona crisis and the premature termination of the 2019 / ’20 season in the Kitchen Champion Division, all 16 clubs saw an increase in the number of followers on social media in the past year. The number of followers of the teams rose sharply on Instagram in particular.
