IMSS Pension Payment Schedule 2024: Dates, Increases, and Important Information

With the beginning of 2024, new dates also arrive for the payment of pensions for all retirees of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS).

In recent days, the institution in charge of social security in Mexico announced the complete payment schedule for next year and when the new deposits will be made.

As they are delivered monthly, 12 payments will be made in total, the first of which corresponds to January.

When do they pay the IMSS pension in January?

The more than 4 million retirees registered in the IMSS will receive their pension payment next Tuesday, January 2, 2024. As usual, the first deposit of the year will be reflected throughout the day in the bank accounts of each beneficiary.

The reason why the payment will not be given on January 1 is because this date is considered a holiday and, therefore, a non-working day, in the Federal Labor Law (LFT). Likewise, on this day the banks will remain closed, so the dispersion of resources will not take place.

Take into account that as of January 1, there will be a 20 percent increase in the minimum wage, which will raise the minimum guaranteed pension from 6,233 to 7,508 pesos per month.
