León, Gto.- Marco Antonio Hernandez Carrillodelegate of Mexican Social Security Institute in the state, declared that a 50 percent positivity in the population of the state of Guanajuato.
“Las covid infectionsspeaking of his positivity that has been recorded in the IMSS hospitalswe have that they are 50 percent positive. The guideline states that only the 10 percent of the suspicious population, this means that out of 100 suspicious people only 10 are chosen and of these five have tested positive, that is why we say that we have a 50 percent positivity rate,” declared the doctor.
He pointed out that the covid variants that circulate, fortunately they are not as aggressive as the first variant of 2019, however, he stressed that the population must maintain care in the winter season approaching.
“The variants that currently circulate are less pathogenic, we know that they continue to be transmitted very easily, but they are less pathogenic and this has significantly reduced the mortality and also the hospitalizations. This does not mean that covid diseases are not fatal, the population must continue to take care of themselves in this upcoming winter season and they must get vaccinated”he added.
He recalled that in all of 2024 there are only two people deceased due to complications from covid and its new variants.
“So far this year in the IMSS There have been one or two people who have died from Covid throughout the state, there have been minimal people who have died and fortunately the tremendous stories that we saw due to the pandemic have remained in the past,” he emphasized.
He concluded that in the middle of this month the vaccination campaigns against the covid pandemic and against the influenzaso the vulnerable population must go immediately before the start of winter so that they have their vaccines.

“At the beginning of this month of October we will be receiving the influenza vaccines and from covid, let’s hope that at least some arrive 300 thousand vaccines against influenza and some 150 mil against covid. Last year let us remember that it was the Abdullah vaccine from a Cuban pharmaceutical company which was well accepted in the state, 150 thousand doses were applied, and we hope that the same vaccine arrives,” he concluded.
