According to the investigation report, 34 people were the masterminds of the street violence, while 52 people played a role in planning and 185 people executed it.
The report states that party supporters and armed persons were brought to Lahore before the arrest of Imran Khan, who at first resisted the arrest of Imran Khan and later on, in the form of arrest, led to violent incidents.
The evidence shows that these people incited the mob and drove the mob towards GHQ and Jinnah House in Lahore and then wreaked havoc.
According to the report, examination of phone call records of that day revealed that these phone calls were made by some PTI leaders. During the investigation, the arrested persons also confessed during these calls.
In the current report regarding the May 9 incidents, it is further stated that Imran Khan is blaming the military establishment for his ouster from the government, but he was ready to negotiate with them.
Later, after a detailed review of all the information, documents and materials provided in this regard, the opinion of the committee became a part of the report, in which it is written that PTI leadership is solely responsible for the events of May 9, 2023.
People who plan, execute and support these events will face the law. In this regard, in the end, it was demanded from the investigating agencies and prosecutors, including the judiciary, that the people involved in these incidents should be brought to justice immediately.
