ELCHE. Aena has put out to tender the supply, installation and maintenance of children’s entertainment areas Alicante-Elche airport Miguel Hernandez. It does so for an estimated contract value of 135.000 euros, with an execution period of 27 months. The plan seeks, as stated in its project justification report, to improve the passenger experience when passing through the airport and, in particular, the services for people traveling with children at the Alicante-Elche Airport. And it is that, currently there is only one play area on the dam, only accessible to those using boarding gate B.
In this case, they will make the improvements by making public furniture elements available, which serve as entertainment elements with a playful objective. Specifically, they project the creation of four new children’s areass. One will be located in the
departures area (boarding gates area C) and the another three in the arrivals area (two in the baggage claim area and another in the booth area rent a car). The location has been chosen to provide entertainment areas for minors while their relatives wait for their flights to depart and their luggage to arrive. In addition to these new areas, the improvement of the existing zone and the reinstallation of three previously acquired zones that they had to withdraw.
The second lot of the contract seeks to ensure that the Conditions of newly installed games are ideal for the first two years after installation. Thus, they will carry out a monthly inspection program, as well as the repairs identified during them.
For the execution of the supply, the maximum term will be three months, while the maintenance service will have an execution of twenty-four months from the formalization of the reception of the installation.
Safety floor, climbing walls or slides
The works involve the transport, supply, installation and maintenance of four new children’s play areas, as well as the improvement of the soil in the existing area and the complete installation of the three reinstalled games with their respective safety flooring.
As for the new areas, both the game itself and the floor of the safety zone, the anchors or necessary foundations and the signaling and information panels are contemplated. The four games in the new zones must be attractive for children and appropriate for ages up to 12 years old, at least – in the first three zones – and up to 6 years old, at least in the fourth zone.
In addition, they must allow the use of 12 or more users at the same time as a minimum. (Zone 4 will be less). The games in the first three areas must have at least four vertical elements such as slides, climbing walls or stairs, and the one in zone 4 will have at least one vertical element. The presentation of aeronautical-themed games will also be valued positively.
