Improvement of Monkeypox Patients in South Tangerang City

Tangerang (ANTARA) – The Health Service (Dinkes) of South Tangerang City (Tangsel), Banten Province said that two patients suffering from monkey pox or monkeypox in the area had improved after special treatment.

“His condition is currently good (monkeypox patient), and he is still undergoing isolation,” said Head of the South Tangerang City Health Service (Kadinkes) Allin Hendalin Mahdaniar in Tangerang, Thursday.

He said that the two male patients, aged 24 and 31 years, were currently still being monitored and progressed in their condition through medical staff.

Apart from that, all patients identified with monkey pox are still undergoing intensive isolation treatment with a period of treatment until complete recovery.

“Both of them have no comorbidities, their current condition has been treated in isolation, there are no complaints, close contact is monitored by the local health center,” he said.

He added, with the findings of this case, the South Tangerang City Government has appealed to the public not to panic and remain alert to monkeypox by increasing clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) and improving health protocols.

Then, as a form of early preparedness and response to suspected cases of monkey pox, the party has also carried out outreach, education to health workers and the public about monkey pox, as well as strengthening the existing surveillance system to carry out investigations and contact tracing.

Apart from that, hospitals in South Tangerang City are ready to treat monkey pox patients by providing guidelines for preventing and controlling monkey pox for health workers.

“We also hope for community participation in early detection efforts to immediately report if cases such as monkey pox are found in their area. Report them immediately to the local health center or health service facility so that they can be followed up,” he said.
