The CISSS Côte-Nord is advising the population that the services offered in the region for people aged 21 and over living with an intellectual disability, an autism spectrum disorder or a physical disability will be improved.
Two recreational technician positions will be added, one in Baie-Comeau and one in Sept-Îles. These positions will make it possible to increase the hours of service to users on the work platform of the Estuary Adult Education Center in Baie-Comeau and to set up one in Sept-Îles.
The new recreation technician will also have the mission of facilitating the integration of clients in DI-TSA-DP within companies and organizations in the region.
A partnership between the CISSS Côte-Nord and community organizations also allows the creation of new work platforms in the region. There will be one in Port-Cartier thanks to an agreement with the Volunteer Action Center. In Haute-Côte-Nord, a work platform will be created in collaboration with the Haute-Côte-Nord Activity Center. An agreement was also signed with the organization Groupe Accessibilité Saint-Augustin. The amount granted will help meet the needs of a greater number of users in the Lower North Shore.
The CISSS Côte-Nord recalls that a sum of $ 250,000 was granted to the Côte-Nord following an investment of $ 16.5 million from the Ministry of Health and Social Services, in October 2020, in order to to offer young people aged 21 and over, who have finished their schooling, access to a daytime activity or to an activity to prepare and support work integration, from 2020-2021.
