At its traditional press conference, the California company Apple introduced in addition to smart watch Watch Series 7, iPhone 13 (mini) a iPhone 13 Pro (Max) also the new iPad, with which Apple wants to compete with the growing segment of Chromebooks and cheap tablets with Android, as well as the brand new iPad mini. What have the new iPads prepared for their customers?
New iPad 10.2 (9th generation)
In terms of design, don’t expect any major changes – the large frames around the 10.2 ″ display and Touch ID in the home button indicate that Apple had the manufacturing price in mind when designing this tablet. This is also associated with 100% recycled materials that were used to make the new iPad. The only major innovation in the case of the display is the presence of True Tone.
Inside, however, the new 9th generation iPad will still undergo major changes. As a chipset, Apple used its A13 Bionic, which will give the iPad enough power even for more demanding activities. New is the 12Mpx selfie camera with a 122-degree shot and the Center Stage function, which ensures that your face will always be in the middle of the shot during video calls.
Then there is still the same 8Mpx camera on the back. Unfortunately, the Lightning connector has also been preserved with the old-new design. What will please is the presence iOS 15, which significantly improves the usability of Apple tablets, as well as support for the first generation Apple Pencil and Keyboard Folio cases.
The price is the main thing Apple is betting on in the case of the new ten-inch iPad. Pre-orders for the 9th generation iPad start today, it will be available on September 24, and for the basic 64GB variant, Apple will say about 9,900 crowns and the higher 256GB memory version costs 13,990 crowns.
New iPad mini
Another surprise of the autumn conference is the innovated iPad mini. He finally changed his design to be more reminiscent of the current range of more equipped iPads Pro and Air. But the new industrial design is not the only change.
The liquid retina display has grown to 8.3 oproti compared to its predecessor, got thinner frames and has a True Tone and a brightness of up to 500 nits. The iPad mini also saw an increase in performance – according to Apple, chipset performance increased by 40 percent, while graphics performance increased by 80 percent. To this is added the neural engine, which is now 2x faster.
On the back tent we find a 12Mpx camera with an aperture of f / 1.8, which supports the smart HDR or shooting in 4K. The front camera also received a resolution of 12 Mpx.
The new iPad mini also supports smart closures and second-generation Apple Pencil, which can be magnetically attached to the edge of the iPad mini to charge it.

The new iPad mini will be available in black, pink, purple and cream. The price is also very nice – for the 64GB version, Apple will say about 14 490 crowns, while the higher 256GB memory variant costs 18,490 crowns. There is both a Wi-Fi version and a variant with 5G modem. Pre-sale has already started and the iPad mini will be officially on sale on September 24th.
