Improve Your Home WiFi with the Linksys Velop Pro 6E: Join the Test Panel Today!

Good WiFi in the home is still not a given. The standard routers provided by Internet service providers often offer variable Wi-Fi performance. Sometimes it works well at once, but the WiFi network can regularly drop out or be very slow, for example in the attic. A mesh system can provide a solution for this so that you have a good connection everywhere in the house.

Linksys has been a manufacturer of networking hardware for 35 years. It also makes Wi-Fi routers, including the Linksys Velop Pro 6E. This system allows the creation of a tri-band Wi-Fi 6E network, in which multiple nodes can be connected to each other. Tweaker Partners is organizing a test panel together with Linksys that will test the Velop Pro 6E. You can register to participate in this panel via the poll at the bottom of this page.

Increase the range of your WiFi network

The Linksys Velop Pro 6E is a Wi-Fi 6E mesh router that, according to the manufacturer, should allow you to achieve gigabit speeds throughout your home. The mesh router has a 6GHz channel in addition to 2.4GHz and 5GHz channels. The use of a single node should increase the range in the home by at least 800 square meters, Linksys claims. Whether this can indeed be achieved depends partly on the materials from which your house is constructed. Certain structures limit the range, so there is a chance that you will still need an extra node.

The Linksys Velop Pro 6E is equipped with the Qualcomm Wi-Fi 6E chip. The node has a Gigabit WAN port and a Gigabit LAN port at the back. The router has a white design, so that it does not stand out too much in your interior. With its dimensions of 98mm x 95mm x 196mm, the WiFi cabinet fits perfectly in a book or TV cabinet.

Combining multiple nodes

The Linksys Velop Pro 6E can be purchased individually, but also in a double pack or in a set of three. This allows you to expand the number of connected devices or further increase the range of your WiFi network. You can connect the nodes together via the Linksys app. The connected nodes support roaming, so your devices can automatically switch to another node when they are nearby.

In the app you can set up the Velop Pro 6E and see the status of the connection. The router itself only has a small indicator light that indicates whether there is connectivity. For an overview you can go to the app, where you will also find instructions for connecting multiple nodes. You can also disconnect certain connected devices from the internet via the app, for example to limit a child’s smartphone time.
