In the midst of the current contingency that the country is going through with low fuel coverage, in Pinar del Río a group of measures is adopted to allow its distribution in an organized manner.
Jesús Valdés Miranda, coordinator of programs and objectives of the Provincial Government, specified in a press conference that a deficit in the entry of the three types of gasoline and diesel has been maintained for several weeks, for which reason the indications issued by the country and the priorities and particularities of the territory are taken into account.
Referring to gasoline, he explained that B-94 (special gasoline) is used for tourism cars, specialized services such as hemodialysis and medical shifts that are covered in taxis and others that provide trips and belong to agencies. They are also assigned to some state agencies that demand it.
The B-90 (regular gasoline), which is the most used in the state sector, is intended for funeral services, some ambulances that carry it, medical shifts and state entities, mainly Health, he pointed out.
Regarding the B-83 (motor gasoline), which is the one used in state buses, he pointed out that it is reserved for fundamental sectors.
It is indicated to sell to the population 20 percent of the fuel that enters the municipalities, and requests for medical shifts and trips to the airport are also attended.
Valdés Miranda said that in the provincial capital, the tour cars pour 15 liters every other day into the Cupet Siboney 2, and the leased and state taxis of the agencies that operate in Tourism or are linked to different sectors of the economy, use 40 liters.
He added that in order to better organize the distribution, they have asked the coordinators of the Government’s programs and objectives to specify by entities the minimum figures that each one needs to maintain the vitality of the services. So that it is intended that in the next few days it can be established which organisms are going to be supplied in each day.
The same operation is done with diesel and 20 percent goes to individuals; the rest is for essential activities, including Agriculture, funeral services, most ambulances, basic basket and passenger transportation.
In La Tirita, private carriers contracted with the State Traffic Unit are supplied.
In addition, considerable amounts of fuel are allocated for the generation of electrical energy and this is a plan that must be covered, the coordinator noted.
ABOUT THE SALE OF LIQUEFIED GAS
The sale to the population of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is a service that has been limited in terms of quantities; however, it remains available, argued Iván Alonso Calderín, director of the Pinar del Río Territorial Fuel Marketing Division.
The manager explained that the LPG was being loaded from Matanzas and it has been transported from Havana for more than a week, so a daily stability of about 1,800 cylinders is expected.
He said that the cylinder floor available to the province is limited, but it allows a 26-day sales cycle to be maintained.
He announced that the start-up of the filling plant in the province, heavily damaged by Ian’s onslaught, is estimated for the month of June.
“With it, it is intended to cover the demand of the territory and it will be much safer, since the lines will be buried and other measures are adopted in the safety devices and valves,” he said.
Alonso Calderín said that the greatest impact will be logistical for the entity, as it will represent a considerable decrease in expenses in terms of transportation and filling services.
He stressed that the sale of cylinders is now available through the virtual store on the Enzona platform
