Impossible — The Final Reckoning Popcorn Bucket

Tom Cruise Takes Mission: Impossible From Big Screen to Popcorn Bucket

Hollywood icon Tom Cruise is known for going above and beyond for his roles, and the eighth installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise is no exception. Cruise not only stars as the fearless IMF agent Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning, but he also helped shape a novel piece of the cinematic experience: the popcorn bucket.

Teaming up with AMC Theatres, Cruise lent his creative vision to design a unique popcorn container for the film’s May 23, 2025, release. While details remain under wraps, Rob Bennett, AMC’s director of food and beverage product strategy, shared his enthusiasm.

" ‘But we nailed it,’ he says gleefully," according to Time Magazine.

Cruise’s dedication to The Final Reckoning doesn’t stop there. He also returns as a producer, weaving his expertise into the narrative’s tapestry. Joining him on this globe-trotting adventure are a star-studded cast including Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Henry Czerny, and Angela Bassett.

This highly anticipated film faced backstory as turbulent as one of Hunt’s missions. The initial production title, Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part Two, was impacted by the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. However, director Christopher McQuarrie, who has helmed the previous three Mission: Impossible films, ultimately led the team to complete filming in November 2024.

McQuarrie, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Erik Jendresen, returns to direct The Final Reckoning, promising another adrenaline-fueled cinematic experience.

Hold on to your seats! Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning is set to explode into theaters across the U.S. on May 23, 2025.
