The Ruby Roman variety is characterized by high sugar content and low acidity. They debuted on the market in 2008. This year the harvest was particularly successful, with a record 253 bunches put up at the Friday auction.

“Sunny weather and high temperatures were right before the harvest, so we were able to harvest sweeter grapes,” said the vice president of the Mitsuo Maruyama growers’ research group.
