New York has another spectacular viewing platform. At 330 meters above sea level, those with a head for heights have been able to enjoy the New York skyline since October 21.
High up in the “One Vanderbilt” skyscraper – right next to the Grand Central train station in Manhattan – the “Summit” viewing platform opened on Thursday at a height of around 330 meters. On three floors, it offers a panoramic view of the American metropolis as well as art installations, outdoor terraces and a fully glass elevator. Hundreds of visitors came to the opening on October 21st.
Ticket prices start at around 40 dollars (around 35 euros). If you want to go up, you have to be vaccinated against Covid. The 427 meter high office tower “One Vanderbilt” was completed last year for more than three billion dollars (about 2.6 billion euros) in construction costs. The metropolis of New York already has several spectacular viewing platforms: the Empire State Building, “One World Observatory” at One World Trade Center, “Top of the Rock” at Rockefeller Center and “The Edge” in the Hudson Yards district in west Manhattan .
