The cost of imported gas for Ukraine in January fell for the first time since last summer, according to data from the Ministry of Economy.
Thus, in the first month of the year, Ukraine imported gas at an average price of $1,161.52 (UAH 32,808.28) per thousand cubic meters. m.
Thus, the price for the last month is 1.9% lower than the December price in dollar terms, when it amounted to $1,184.57 (UAH 32,274.91) per thousand cubic meters. m.
At the same time, a year ago, the average price of gas imports was $250.09 per thousand cubic meters. m, which is 4.6 times ($911.43) less than now.
Recall the price of imported gas began to rise last summer when increased gas prices in Europe.
Recently, gas in Europe has been trading at the level of 900-1000 dollars per thousand cubic meters.
