Dr. Manar Ghanem, a member of the Media Center of the Meteorological Authority, issued a very important warning and appeal to those who lined up in the coastal cities, led by Alexandria, Baltim and Matrouh, which are the most crowded with liners during the summer.
Ghanem stressed, during the statements of the “Good Morning Egypt” program on the Egyptian Channel 1, the necessity of avoiding going to the sea during the warning period, which began from yesterday until its end tomorrow, Monday.
She pointed out that high wind speeds cause waves to rise in the Mediterranean from 2.5 to 4 meters, which affects marine activities and hiking on the beaches of Baltim, Damietta, Alexandria, Matrouh and El Alamein.
Manar Ghanem added that with next Tuesday, wind speeds will calm down and waves will decrease, so that weather conditions and navigation in the Mediterranean will largely stabilize by next Wednesday.
A record rise in the planet’s temperature
It also alerted the media officer of the Meteorological Authority that the planet Earth set a new record last week.
She indicated that the planet’s temperature rose to 17.2 degrees Celsius, compared to 16.8 degrees in 2016, while the Earth’s natural surface temperature is 15 degrees Celsius.
She attributed this to more current climate changes and weather phenomena that affect all countries of the world.
At the same time, Dr. Manar Ghanem confirmed that the temperatures in the Egyptian governorates are now around their normal levels at this time of the year.
