Yesterday, Sunday, the Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Hala Zayed, held a press conference to announce the latest developments in the emerging corona virus pandemic, and the state’s preparations to confront the spread of the second wave by the beginning of winter.

During the conference, the minister confirmed that the ministry is ready to confront the second wave of the Coronavirus, which will not be more dangerous than the first – as far as he described, and that health has taken all precautionary measures and continues to apply them.

Zayed explained that among the precautionary measures that have been announced: It is reducing employment by half before the start of the second wave, and the closure for a period of 3 days is the penalty for places that do not comply with the precautionary measures, confirming that there is a sufficient balance of medicines and medical supplies to confront Corona, updating the Corona treatment protocol and issuing the fourth version within days, in addition to continuing to provide treatment services For patients even with an increase in Corona injuries.

Regarding the hesitant rumors about school closures amid increasing numbers of injuries, the Minister of Health confirmed that there is no intention to close schools, pointing out that the Ministry has an intention to deal with cases of infection.

She noted that entering winter and increasing the possibility of exposure to the roles of influenza will lead to the spread of the Corona virus, expecting an increase in the number of infections and deaths by December, January and February.

Zayed revealed that the most cases of HIV infection are in the governorates of Cairo, Alexandria and Giza, specifically the regions (Helwan, East Nasr City, Sharabia, Awseem, Al Warak, and Bulaq).

And she noted that workers in open sites such as the farmer and the driver are less likely to be infected with Corona, while housewives and retired people are the most vulnerable groups, as 65% of Corona patients live in homes without ventilation.

At the end of the conference, the Minister of Health issued a set of guidelines to combat infection; Where she stressed the need to wear a non-colored mask, physical distancing, work from home and from a distance “online”, and follow precautionary measures to prevent the virus.
