The latest COVID-19 diagnosis and treatment protocol in China fully reflects the invaluable experience of using traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) to treat severe and critical cases, according to a health official.
The new protocol introduces targeted TCM treatments for more severe cases and offers relatively comprehensive TCM treatment solutions for children, Jia Zhongwu of the National TCM Administration said at a press conference on Monday.
It specifies the children’s COVID-19 symptoms at different stages of infection and provides the corresponding TCM prescriptions and dosage, Jia said.
The 10th edition of the Protocol for the Diagnosis and Treatment of COVID-19 was released on Friday and now treats COVID-19 as a category B infectious disease.
