Pfizer has applied to the European Medicines Agency for a possible booster dose of COVID-19 vaccines. The idea is to give it six months after the second dose for people over 16 years of age.
The manufacturers have applied to the European Medicines Regulator and have replied that they will make a quick assessment of the data. The result is expected in the next few weeks.
On Friday, Moderna announced that the European Medicines Agency had requested conditional approval for a booster dose. Last week, the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control said there was no urgent need for booster doses.
