By September 6, Bulgarian citizens abroad who have the right to vote and wish to exercise it in the early parliamentary elections on October 2, 2022, must submit a written application for this, the decision of the CEC provides. The application can be signed by hand and submitted in person to the diplomatic or consular representation of our country in the respective country.
It can also be sent by letter by post or by courier service to the diplomatic or consular representation in the respective country, and there can be more than one application in one letter, but only one person can be entered in each application. The application can also be submitted electronically through the CEC website.
In it, the voter enters in Bulgarian their names on their passport, military card or identity card, social security number and their permanent address in Bulgaria. The voter writes in Cyrillic or Latin the place outside the country where he wishes to vote.
In his application, the voter can indicate an e-mail address or a contact phone number to which he will be notified of the result after the data he has filled in has been verified.
The heads of the diplomatic or consular representation of the Republic of Bulgaria shall immediately send to the Central Election Commission by electronic means the received applications for voting from voters who wish to vote outside the country, the decision states. The received applications are published immediately on the website of the CEC in compliance with the requirements of the Personal Data Protection Act.
