Freshmen behind the wheel, as well as young people with lifted checkpoints, will now be able to obtain a driver’s license according to the accelerated procedure – up to 3 days after the application is accepted. This is established by the bill amending and supplementing the law on Bulgarian personal documents, adopted today by the Council of Ministers. The purpose of the changes introduced is to facilitate citizens.
According to the proposed changes, the accelerated procedure will not only benefit drivers who replace their license due to the expiration of the validity period, when their data is changed – change of surname and transliteration, as well as when a duplicate is issued. Those who have just passed the exam, those who have acquired skills for a new category, as well as those who have regained legal capacity after the withdrawal of checkpoints, will now quickly obtain their licenses.
Another of the proposed amendments is the abolition of the obligation to change the license when changing the permanent address of an inhabited place within a district.
