The iPhone 14 range seems to be having some difficulties. Recently, the appearance of horizontal lines on the screen has worried users who expect a fix soon. The latter should be provided with the 16.3 update of iOS. An update of the architecture of the Home application is also planned.
When iOS version 16.3 arrives, it could contain two big fixes that iPhone users have been waiting for for a long time. It seems that the Cupertino company wants to correct a problem with the screen of the iPhone 14 and one with the architecture of the Home application. Over the past few weeks, some iPhone 14 users have indeed been complaining about horizontal lines flashing across their screen. According to articles published on social media and discussion forums like Reddit, these lines appear when the iPhone starts.
According to MacRumors, the firm has acknowledged internally that the bug is related to software rather than hardware, so Apple Stores will not replace or repair affected devices. On the contrary, a software patch would be “available soon to resolve the problem”, according to an internal memo from the company. The other issue has to do with the Home architecture overhaul that arrived in iOS 16.2. Just before the holidays, Apple pulled the reliability and efficiency-enhancing feature due to a sharing issue – but didn’t provide an update on when it will be reinstated. In the second beta of iOS 16.3, the option to update the Home architecture returned, which suggests that Apple has fixed the problem.
Availability next month
It’s possible that these changes will come in iOS 16.3, due next month, or in an interim upgrade such as 16.2.1. The firm often sends updates between development releases to fix security flaws and major issues, and these could certainly reach that level. However, since the Home app architecture upgrade was retired without an app or system update, it’s possible that Apple could restore it independently.
