Apple suddenly released iOS 15.3.1iPadOS 15.3.1, macOS 12.2.1 and WatchOS 8.4.2 to the public. This update is quite important because it brings a number of fixes, including patching malicious security holes.
The vulnerability is related to WebKit which allows malicious websites to execute code on devices such as iPhone 6 and later, iPad Pro (all models), iPad Air 2 and later, iPad 5th generation and later, iPad mini 4 and later, and iPod touch (7th generation).
In a statement Apple acknowledged that it had received reports that the vulnerability had been exploited. However, the Cupertino tech giant did not provide details on the number of users affected or the damage caused.
To update iOS 15.3.1 and iPadOS 15.3.1, iPhone and iPad users just open Settings. Then select General followed by Software Update, when the update availability information appears, just press Download and Install.
Switching to macOS 12.2.1, Apple brought a bug fix that caused battery drain when using a Bluetooth connection as many users have complained about. But Apple said that this patch only applies to MacBook models that use Intel chipsets, although M1 users are also experiencing the same problem.
The watchOS 8.4.2 update brings security updates and bug fixes to Apple Watch owners.
