Not a few people are afraid of hidden camera in a hotel room or inn. In the United States, a 2019 survey found 60% of respondents were afraid of hidden cameras in Airbnb rentals.
Even 11% of vacation home renters there said they found a hidden camera while they were staying. So to anticipate it, here are some tips hidden camera detection as quoted detikINET from CNBC, Tuesday (28/6/2022):
1. Do an intensive search
There’s nothing wrong with looking first in case there are hidden cameras in the inn. The bedroom and bathroom areas need to be researched. Hidden cameras may be disguised in wall clocks, lights to temperature gauges.
“See if anything seems unusual, then take a closer look,” said Kenneth Bombace, CEO of Global Threat Solutions.
Most cameras are also connected to a power source or electronic device. He said the first thing he did in a hotel room was unplug the clock radio and put it in the hotel room cupboard.
“Also, if you use a flashlight and point it at something that might be hiding the camera, you’ll see its reflection, which is a great way of detecting hidden camera if there is one,” added Michael O’Rourke of Advanced Operational Concepts.
