The winter season increases the risk of suffering from respiratory diseases, especially in older adults, so it is important that they go to receive the Pneumococcus vaccine, which is available in all health centers.
Isela Flores Hinojosa, responsible for the Universal Vaccination program in the Health Services Jurisdiction in Ensenada, highlighted that the biological can be applied at the same time as receiving the Covid-19 and Influenza vaccine.
He explained that it is a necessary vaccine for older adults, over 60 years of age, who receive a single dose; while in children the scheme begins at two months, with reinforcement at four and 12 months.
Likewise, he shared that health centers are open from Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.; In addition, the Ruiz y 14 Health Center has extended hours and a module on Ruiz Street from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and inside the unit, which serves from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Important to apply
Flores Hinojosa highlighted the importance of older adults receiving the vaccine, as it is an effective and safe measure to protect themselves against this disease; since vaccines can prevent the condition caused by pneumococcus bacteria from being fatal and reduce the spread of infectious agents.
Finally, he reminded the population that the influenza vaccine is already available for vulnerable groups, such as pregnant women, older adults and children, as well as the biological vaccine against Covid-19, aimed at older adults, health personnel, people with some comorbidity and first responders.
